Rushton Reality Reunion

So every year my family gets together for our grandma and grandpa reunion, it just so happens that when you get married you are automatically in the running to plan a reuinon, and ours was this year WHOO HOO!! We decided the location would be the cabin (check), we decided it would have to be in may since baby 7 comes in june (check), now for a theme... this was the tough part. After much debating Craig and I wanted to split the family into teams and make them do reality tasks (check) now it was time for the reunion.

We divided them up with spouses and cousins on opposite teams so we could really see them go at it. The best part of planning this was that we got to be the judges haha. We had 7 challenges

1- project runway (they had to decorate their own shirts)
2-twister (on a huge twister board)

3-Ipod Idol (which was so funny)

4-Amazing Race (with a puzzel twist)

5-Tug a war (it was over in one second)

6- skits (I cant believe that my dad got into it)

7-apprentice (this was the tie breaker)
Even though the Yellow team, I mean the dominators, won every one got a prize and I think every one had a good time. I have an amazing family and when we all get together we have so much fun!

We got Bison Jams, We got Bear Jams, We got Elk Jams, and We got Huckleberry Jam

Bison Jams

Bear Jams

Elk Jams

Between spring and summer semester Craig and I decided we needed a break, I wanted to go to arizona with the sun, and Craig wanted to go to Yellowstone with the freezing temps. So guess where we went... thats right Yellowstone and it was the most amazing trip. So I thought I would give you a run down of our 5 day adventure.

I cant believe that I am old enough to rent a car, that is crazy!

11 hours in a car is such a long time.
We rented an amazing car that we did not want to give up, drove through wyoming to jackson hole then through the grand teton national park only to discover that the south entrance to yellowstone was closed until may 8 we arrived may 1. With a little back tracking ( a 5 hour back track) and some scary snow storms we finally arrived to west yellowstone.

this was Jackson Lake in front of the Grand Tetons, but with all the clouds its hard to see that they are grand.

Old Faithful Blew whoo hoo
Even though it was a little chilly we had so much fun looking at the view, seeing the wild life, and checking out the geisers. The best story I have to say was when craig got out of the car to stand twenty feet a way from these 4 bison, the only problem was that he started to move his feet and yell at them when they immediatly jumped up and came toward him. So what does my husband do... jumps straight through the window ( I didnt think he could fit through the window) I about peed my pants watching him run from these huge animals.
You would think that with so many people taking pictures of him every day that he could at least trim the beard.

One morning we woke up to 2 inches of snow on our car, but that didnt slow us down we are from southern utah and we plowed through those snowing roads. All in all we had such a good time together, I am so blessed that we were able to go on such a fun trip together... now it is back to the real world

Positive thinking leads to a Happy day!!

So Tuesdays are my days off and comes pretty close to being my top favorite day of the week if it did not involve cub scouts (AARRGGHH), I get to blog, clean the house, make bread, go to wal mart at 6 in the am (nobody in the lines), and run. So since I knew that it was tuesday blogging day I was trying to decided what thoughts I wanted to write about. I read this e-mail that my mom got about this man and his amazing positive attitude:
This man always has a positive attitude, he said that in the morning when we start the day we have a decision to make, is this going to be a good day or a bad day, and through out the day we are consumed with many different situations that make us decided if we will react with a positve attitude or a negative attitude.
There was obvious more to the story but you get the basics. So I was thinking alot of this through out the day especially because I had such a poopy attitude yesterday while I was mowing lawns for my dad. My poor papi was taken to the hospital with a heart flutter (no worries they are running tests tomorrow) he is unable to do any physical activity until the tests are done. So instead of being grateful to help my dad out I was uspet that I had to go mow this yard at 7 pm. So I decided that I needed to change my attitude, and you know what today has been such a good day.
To go along with my positive attitude I thought I would share some of my favorite things that make me happy.
*Craig ( you know, he knows exactly what to do when I am being unreasonable, he makes me so happy)
*Oyster Crackers (weird I know but my favorite, but only the western family brand)
*the sun (I miss the days of laying out at lake powell with Kaydee, or going to green valley, or even swimming-who has time)
*I love cotton (not like in clothes but when it blows off trees, it reminds me that my birthday is coming up, it always happens around this time of the year)
*smelling clean toweles (this is why I love doing laundry)
*brownie batter (I know gross but I am telling you it puts me to a happy place)
*a Hug ( I think we should have a national hugging day)
*clothes that are too loose (cuz that means I am losing the belly haha)
*Craig working on his music (even though he doesnt spend any time with me while he does it I know this is what he loves, so then that makes me love it)
*Sunday afternoons of doing nothing (except for this last sunday)
this is just a few from my every growing favorite list.
This last sunday my parents took us out to eat for helping them mow lawns, and what does craig order... a heartattack waiting to happen, I mean this burger was huge it had bacon and 3 kinds of cheeses. In order to work off that burger he helped my dad dig a hole around the irrigation so they can put a new pipe in, or something like that. so I got to sit and enjoy why my honey bunches worked off his burger haha!!

A little bit of everything

HONEY BUNCHES DAY!!
I think that is my new favorite day and I wish that I could have honey bunches day ever day. Last wed I had to drive up to Salt Lake City for some school stuff. I woke up that morning anxious for the long up and back drive with out craig, he tried to get it off but was unable to. In the morning though he had a very strong impression that he needed to go with me up to SLC, he ended up calling in sick and we drove together and it was so nice I really needed is love and support. The best part of the whole day was that he let me go shopping at my favorite store (Nordstrom...love it) he kept calling the day honey bunches day which ment I got to do anything I wanted to do (with in reason) and that ment shopping whoo hoo, plus we ate at PF Changs (that is where we ate the first time we met). So now I am just waiting for my next honey Bunches day.

We also went to conference last weekend, it was such an amzing experience to be there when the prophet walked in, we were all standing way before he entered just because we were all so excited to see him. I love that feeling of reverence when you are there. That was Craig and I's first time going to conference and I am glad that we had such a great experience. Another great part about that weekend was that we got to hang out with Criag's sister and her husband, it was so funny that we had to travel to SLC to hang out with each other, but none the less I am glad that we did and we had such a fun time with them Kevin and Craig are so much a like. We got to stay with my grandma and I am so blessed that we were able to I really enjoyed seeing her, I dont get to see her that often and I am so greatful for every chance that I get to be with her.

Also this week was EASTER whoo hoo and tradition is a big HUGE easter egg hunt in the front and back yard for all of the grand children. We had a blast hiding them especially Craig cuz he would hide them hard for the older kids haha. After the kids had their easter hunt then it was the adults turn. My parents hid camoflauges ester eggs with numbers in it and that ment which prize we got at the end. it was so much fun. I love being with family I am so blessed that they live so close to us. I love being together even if its just playing games together I love it I look forward to the next holiday.

Easier the second time

We went hiking the other weekend with Craig's cousin Geoff and his wife Niccole (we love you niccole your already family), and let me tell you angels landing, although tough and challenging, was actually easier (small amount) than last time. We had so much fun even though I couldnt breath on the way up, coming down is way more easier. Now in all my 23 years I have never actually finished Angels landing... I know I know what a shocker right. But no seriously I have always been so terrified from hearing that people have died on this hike, (ok for those of you that know me know that this is typical Hannah, hearing one part of information and believing that that is the norm) but I did it... I DID IT!!! WHOO HOO I climbed up to the very top and it was amazing. I would have to say that I am pretty proud of myself.

Another Scouting Adventure

This last week my parents left for Hawaii...YEA we have the whole house to ourselves, except for the cat. We woke up to cat puke right in front of our bedroom door (which craig stepped in and I had to clean up at 4:30 in the AM). I hope that the cat survives the whole 2 weeks. It has been fun to cook again, we had Craig's cousin Geoff and fiance Nicole over for dinner on Mon. it was so fun to laugh and hang out with them.
I also had my cute cousin tessa get married this last week, so I drove up to Salt lake with my cousin Amanda. It was amazing to go to the SLC temple and see Tessa and Brent get married they are so cute and I am so excited for them to start the lives together, and let me tell you she was beautiful I love seeing brides cuz I am reminded that I was one of those once and I loved every min of it. I did however miss Craig, I know I know lame I was gone one day and I missed him so much. The things I missed...
* Keeping my feet warm at night.

* holding my hand.

* him driving, me sleeping.

* his weird 70's music.

* his wonderful morning breath.

* his complaining that he would be hungry.

* and I guess I just missed his touch.

So yea, I guess you could say that I missed him and I am glad to be back home.

Also this week, there is one good thing about scouts... it provides me oppurtunites to take pictures and create a new blog, so thank you you cute little scouts. Yes, after many hours of proving our points of why we should or shouldn't go on the hike I gave in to his big brown eye's, those things are deadly. Some how craig has a way of telling me how his way is always the right way even though I sometimes think that my way is right... on no it is not, so henceforth that is why I had to get up early on a sat morning no good. I was set to pout for the whole 3.5 miles, but when I saw those cute little boys totally excited to learn about nature I was actually really glad that we went on the hike.

The best year of my life

Has it already been a year! It seems like we just got engaged, it cant already be a year later. None the less the first year has past, and it has been the best year of my life... no seriously it has. I had a moment this past weekend where I got so depressed thinking that this was it, our one year moment!! For some odd reason I thought that every anniversary should be just as exciting and eventful as the wedding was, but yet there were no fancy dress no photographers and no chocolate fondu fountains, it was just Craig me and a couple of sushi rolls. I thought about the "no party anniversary" idea all weekend and came to the conclussion that I am so lucky to even have found Craig, that I dont need to throw a party every year just to show how much we are in love (brilliant I know it just came to me an apifany (spelling) if you will). But no seriously how did I get so lucky (thank you Randy) to have found my other half, I mean the poor man has to deal with my rollercoaster mood swings and my bad habit of locking my keys in the car, and yet he loves me through it all.

I know I know 1990's called and they want their candy poster back, but hey it was a cute inexpensive card.

yea Craig was freaked out that the cake was in the freezer for a year so he didn't eat it, but dont you worry my mom is still eating it as we speak (a week later).Craig promised me a fun time at jumpin jacks ( I love being a kid) and I promised him Hiking, great compromise.I love my honey bunches and I am looking forward to the many more years that are you yet to come, happy anniversary honey!!
