Another Scouting Adventure

This last week my parents left for Hawaii...YEA we have the whole house to ourselves, except for the cat. We woke up to cat puke right in front of our bedroom door (which craig stepped in and I had to clean up at 4:30 in the AM). I hope that the cat survives the whole 2 weeks. It has been fun to cook again, we had Craig's cousin Geoff and fiance Nicole over for dinner on Mon. it was so fun to laugh and hang out with them.
I also had my cute cousin tessa get married this last week, so I drove up to Salt lake with my cousin Amanda. It was amazing to go to the SLC temple and see Tessa and Brent get married they are so cute and I am so excited for them to start the lives together, and let me tell you she was beautiful I love seeing brides cuz I am reminded that I was one of those once and I loved every min of it. I did however miss Craig, I know I know lame I was gone one day and I missed him so much. The things I missed...
* Keeping my feet warm at night.

* holding my hand.

* him driving, me sleeping.

* his weird 70's music.

* his wonderful morning breath.

* his complaining that he would be hungry.

* and I guess I just missed his touch.

So yea, I guess you could say that I missed him and I am glad to be back home.

Also this week, there is one good thing about scouts... it provides me oppurtunites to take pictures and create a new blog, so thank you you cute little scouts. Yes, after many hours of proving our points of why we should or shouldn't go on the hike I gave in to his big brown eye's, those things are deadly. Some how craig has a way of telling me how his way is always the right way even though I sometimes think that my way is right... on no it is not, so henceforth that is why I had to get up early on a sat morning no good. I was set to pout for the whole 3.5 miles, but when I saw those cute little boys totally excited to learn about nature I was actually really glad that we went on the hike.

The best year of my life

Has it already been a year! It seems like we just got engaged, it cant already be a year later. None the less the first year has past, and it has been the best year of my life... no seriously it has. I had a moment this past weekend where I got so depressed thinking that this was it, our one year moment!! For some odd reason I thought that every anniversary should be just as exciting and eventful as the wedding was, but yet there were no fancy dress no photographers and no chocolate fondu fountains, it was just Craig me and a couple of sushi rolls. I thought about the "no party anniversary" idea all weekend and came to the conclussion that I am so lucky to even have found Craig, that I dont need to throw a party every year just to show how much we are in love (brilliant I know it just came to me an apifany (spelling) if you will). But no seriously how did I get so lucky (thank you Randy) to have found my other half, I mean the poor man has to deal with my rollercoaster mood swings and my bad habit of locking my keys in the car, and yet he loves me through it all.

I know I know 1990's called and they want their candy poster back, but hey it was a cute inexpensive card.

yea Craig was freaked out that the cake was in the freezer for a year so he didn't eat it, but dont you worry my mom is still eating it as we speak (a week later).Craig promised me a fun time at jumpin jacks ( I love being a kid) and I promised him Hiking, great compromise.I love my honey bunches and I am looking forward to the many more years that are you yet to come, happy anniversary honey!!

The last 3 months

I cant believe that it is already Feb. It has been 3 months since my last post and I have so much to update. Christmas was great, it was our first "official" christmas together and we had a blast the only problem was trying to split our time between two families but I think it worked out pretty well. We had to drive to Enterprise to be with my sister Heather for chirstmas, and yes if you remember that far back it was pretty much a blizzard that night pretty much the scariest thing we did.

We spent christmas eve at Craig's parents house where everyone in the family had to do a little program it was fun especially Meegan and Amanda's game where we had to do skits with the props they gave us

I got Craig a national park pass he loved it it was exactly what he wanted. (that is what I get for marring a geology major, a year of hiking rocks whoo hoo).

I got my china that was promised to me at my wedding...its only 10 months later haha Thanks mom I love them!! And of course Craig got me a gift that is really for him the Ipod touch but let me tell you it is amazing I love it!

The day after christmas Craig got really antsy and wanted to head out to Zions, so off we went in the bitter cold. We hiked weeping rock and almost got attacked by all the melting icicles just hanging there.

Craig and I have been called as Wolf den leaders in the cub scout program...are you serious, I mean I grew up with no brothers and we dont have kids what were they thinking. It has been an eye opening experience with 8 boys who are all 8 years old, some days it's too much.

Last week me and my sisters drove to Cedar city for my cousin Tessa's bridal shower and of course the little man David gets to come and hang with the girls (does he not remind you of an elf?)

Last week Craig wanted to go hiking in the Bloomington caves, now I have never been there and didn't realize how far away it was but he had a map from some guys that he works with so we decided to go, and invited Joe and Jen to come with us.

3 hours later and many times staring at this amazing map we finally found the caves, I felt so bad for Joe and Jen when Craig started beating the stearing wheel because he was frustrated.

none the less we had a good time hiking through the caves and I will not mention how many bruises I have so as not to discourage you from trying the caves out, I will however suggest bringing gloves.

And this is as after the hike I am so glad that I am alive haha what an adventure. And that is what we have been up to for the last 3 months I promise I will update more often haha.

My Honey Bunches

On Dec 7th it had been a year since craig proposed to me, bringing back all the memories of the love, laughter, and all those bridezilla moments. We went to our favorite place to eat, Benji's (we love their sushi) same place we went on the night he proposed. While at dinner we were able to kinda reflect and talk about all of our favorite memories that we have had together over the last year, we came the conculsion and lets be honest nothing can top the honemoon. With all seriousness I can honestly say that I have found me the best man to spend the rest of my life with, I wont lie though some days its hard to live with his ego but dont you worry I always bring right back to reality.
I love my honey bunches and I am so glad that he asked me to marry him!

Rushton Thanksgiving

We started thanksgiving off with a bang, a double birthday party for my two nieces (no they are not twins) Taylor and Erin, we sure know how to party. With two turkey birds in the oven and craig and I encharge of mashed potatoes, a pie, and appetizers who has time to eat cake and wrap gifts (I tried to resist the temptation to wrap the gifts in christmas paper since I am so excited for christmas, it was hard very hard).
Turkey day for me was kinda a let down I will be honest it all started when I didn't have faith in craig being able to make the mashed potatoes, I had to learned that I have to have faith in him because he doesn't always have faith in himself. When we got to Heidi's we had so much food I cant believe what was she thinking have appetizers before turkey and stuffing, I got full off of the stuffed mushrooms. My appetizer well yea lets just say it was an experiment of cheese stuffed into puff pastery with raspberry jam trust me it tasted better than it sounds.
Every year I always hear so many fun stories about my family and black friday shopping and so this year I was finally old enough (and didn't have to babysit) to go, but it kinda sucked when all we did on thanksgiving night was look at all the ads in the newspaper, thats right no games, no movies just ads.
our christmas card to everyone this year was a compilation of craig and I's favorite christmas songs, since we dont have kids to show off in a cute picture we made a fun cd. we gave every one their cd on thanksgiving and all craig could think about was if anyone would even listen to the cd.
Black friday was crazy and of course where do me and Heather thats right target we got in line at 4:30 in the morning and waited for the doors to open at 6, it was nice we had a good sisterly bonding moment. When the doors opened at 6 I couldn't believe it we were one of the first to get in there and I was walking (not running like everyone else) to the electronics when I see this big lady running past me with a shopping cart already full of stuff, I dont get it how could she all of the stuff already it was insane, crazy lady and crazy people to get up and shop aggresively that early in the morning.

30th Birthday

Who would have thought that I would marry someone 7 years older than me and that he would be turning 30 (what an old man j/k). Craig recently hurt his back at work and thinks that his back knows that he is turning 30, thats why it started to hurt him. what a funny guy I married. So for the big 3-0 I decided to blind fold Craig and take him to vegas. why vegas you might ask, well because they have this crique desoli (I dont think that I spelt that correctly) concert where they perform to beatles music. Ever since I have known Craig he has loved the beatles I mean he even wants to name our future kids after names in beatles music and come on have you heard the song "dear Prudence" yea I dont think so, but anyways I know he is a big fan and so I wanted to do something special for him.

I knew that I would have to get Craig completely lost before going to vegas other wise he would know instantly where we were at, and because of my way out of the way detour he had to go to bathroom 46 miles away from vegas so the surprise ended a little sooner then I expected. we stopped at moapa valley gas station and of course they were cleaing the bathroom, so while craig ran around trying to find a bathroom he pinched my butt as he passed by, the funny thing was that it was not me that he pinched. Craig had mistaken this cute older lady for me, he was moritified after he pinched her I mean he was so embarressed it was so hillarious. You know that is why I love that cute guy, he makes me laugh no matter what he does.

We stayed at the stratosphere, it was your typical vegas hotel I mean you didn't have to go very far to find a casino, a bar, mcdonalds, a buffet, drunk people (lots of drunk crazy people), and this was a new one for me an adult only pool area 25 floor (I didn't want to ask what this was about all I know is that we stayed away from the 25 floor). For us Vegas is a big part of our lives it was where we first met, we went on a blind date to a hinder concert in vegas 2 years ago so for that reason vegas will always be our special place (what am I saying special place in vegas, sin city, great we sure did pick a winner to be our special place).

Since we had more than just one day to be in vegas we did a few other things. First off we decided to go to the body exhibit and let me tell you this was the coolest thing that I have seen in a long time I am not kidding. at this exhibit they show you every part of the human body that you always wanted to see I mean I saw the tiny little bones in your ear canal that I have only seen in books before, it was amazing. When we bought the tickets for the show they had a package deal where you could buy a buffet dinner as well, wise decision not to buy the package after seeing all of your insides. come to find out when we got home Craig was telling all his buddies at work "that he wanted to go to a place where people had no clothes on so I took him to the bodies exhibit" what a crazy husband I have.

finally the last thing we did was walk around MGM after eating at the rain forest cafe, we saw lions and tigers and bears oh my, ok no really we just saw lions. Then we walked through the M&M factory I couldn't believe that craig had never been through that, all the times he has been to vegas and that was the first time. Its been a long time since I have been there too and since then they have added a little 3D movie thing about m&m's it was a little cheesy but it sure did make us laugh. All and all I think that Craig's 30 birthday surprise was a success and for sure one that he will never forget. until next time vegas.

Freddy Kruger is dead

I cant believe that Craig's 3 brothers wrote a murder mystery plot for 14 people, that right there is amazing, but was it fun? Well the answer to that question would have to be yes and no, I mean dont get me wrong I love being a part of a huge family but come on, when everyone is try to explain why they are not the murderer then the evening begins to draw on....and on...and on. The main idea behind the murder was that we were all supposed to be dressed up as characters who were going to Freddy Krugers halloween party, of course Freddy ends up dying but who killed him? Craig was a warewolf (because he is the only one in his family with facial hair) and I was a witch (hanilda...trust me we all had a hard time saying the name). After we accused each other for 3 rounds they finally through in a twist where we were all in a dream and then suddenly we were our own self, only this time Fredrick Kruger was dead along with his son Freddy (who just happend to be a very realistic fake dead body in the upstairs bathroom, totally creepy). So for the second half of the murder I was the extremly good looking scientist who was helping Fredrick with deadly virus...only I was not getting paid by Mr. Kruger so I wanted to kill him, and Craig was the hitman who Fredrick would hire to kill people...only craig was tired of not getting paid for his killings so he wanted Fredrick dead. On and On we go through this very long, very thought out murder when we finally found out that my husband the hit man was the real killer. All and all it was such a fun night we had a really good time and I am so happy that I didn't have to write the story.
